The glow up: The Body Shop Himalayan Glow Mask review

I love a good face mask. I find them so relaxing, and it’s a great, quick and easy way to treat yourself at home.As part of my The Body Shop advent Calendar (full review here), I received the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. I was so shocked as it was the full sized product, and the packaging made it look super luxurious and expensive! It’s such a pretty little pot that looks lovely with my other make up and skin care bits.

So this product is a clay mask infused with bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and tea tree oil. It claims to draw out impurities from your skin, get rid of excess oils and refine your pores.

The mask itself has a slightly rough texture, which I think is meant to help exfoliate the skin. It smells absolutely amazing, it’s very fresh and uplifting. It has small clumps of clay in the product which can fall from your face during application, so it’s best to apply it over a sink to avoid mess!

It goes on with a very wet and think consistency, and eventually dries into a hard mask, the way clay masks usually do. While it’s on the skin, it’s very tingly and soothing – you can definitely feel it working it’s magic.

I left the mask on for about 15-20 minutes, until it had completely dried. I then washed it off and added a moisturiser.

Voila! My skin was instantly uplifted, cleansed and purified. My pores were much smaller, and excess oil didn’t seem to be a problem for me for the rest of the day! It creates the perfect base for make up, so if I have any special events coming up I will be definitely using this mask before getting ready!

This face mask is a little miracle in a pot, and it really does do what it says on the tin. If you have oily or problematic skin, you need it in your life. This will definitely become a staple in my skin care routine! You can get the mask here for £15.
